Offshore drilling: good or bad idea?

OK, so maybe the picture is more "complex" than good vs bad.

We want to hear your thoughts. What are the pros and cons of offshore drilling? Should we be looking for more oil, or focusing on alternative fuels? Do we even have the funds and infastructure now to begin a meaningful movement away from fossil fuels?

Offshore drilling: what are your thoughts?

i agree with this decision because oil is important but being able to live on earth is more important.... this may lay off from jobs but we can create jobs by coming up with new inventions

I agree with Obama's planbecause,i feel that the economy should start using cleaner forms of gases! If we start using cleaner forms, the Earth would be a better place to live!!!!!!!

i agree with the plan, because it might hurt us right now but it will definitely benefit us in the long run.

In my opinion I believe we should drill oil outside the shore of the Chesapeake Bay because we are over using the ample supply of coal. Sure theres a possibilty that it may contaminate are oceans and marine ecosystem, but right now we don't have any other options that won't contribute to the efeect of green-house gasses.
